Butter chicken and sauce is amazing, will definitely come back next time I'm here. Service was very cheerful and happy to see me! It'd be nice to see them get more attention!!

their tikka masala is so delicious and their jasmine rice is too. such friendly and nice people and honestly the best indian food i've found in portland.

I work in the mall and love to eat here on my lunches. The food is rich and flavorful, portions are generous, and the employees are kind. The butter chicken is my go-to but their korma, vindaloo, peanut butter chicken, and biryani are delicious too! They sometimes throw in some gulab jamun on the house, it's delicious too. I highly recommend stopping by!

I got take out because I was incredibly lazy and it did not disappoint. My favorite is the amount of Naan that came with the order. At first I was mildly unimpressed with the amount of rice and chicken tikka masala but honestly it lasted me 3 meals so I think I just had bigger eyes than my stomach. All in all it was a really good value and I would definitely go here again.

Bombay Wala of India is located in the food court of Washington Square Mall. While mall food courts may not be the first place you think of for authentic Indian flavors, this place is THE PLACE! Despite the casual setting, the dishes are bursting with the rich and complex flavors that define Indian cuisine. The owner shared context around the proteins and let us try as many as we needed. This led me to trying (and ordering) their peanut butter chicken which was AMAZING! I also grabbed the tikki masala chicken as well as a side of classic nan bread for my plate. In additon to a well stacked plate, the owner gave us some Indian desserts to try. In terms of ambiance, the food court setting provides a quick and casual dining experience, making it perfect for a shopping break or a quick lunch on the go. Service at Bombay Wala is friendly and SUBPERB, with the staff always ready to assist you with a smile. I will be back to learn more about Indian cruisine!

For mall court food this place was unexpectedly good so I had to write a review. First of all there was a really enthusiastic nice man that let you sample everything prior to order so I really liked that. When I order Indian take out the portions are quite small but the portions here were huge so I really liked that. Lastly the price was pretty good for the quality and amount of food. I really like the chicken biryani.

A non mall food, food at the food court. It doesn't happen often but, Washington Square has a few options besides the standard food court food. This Indian restaurant truly is an actual Indian restaurant operating in a food court. They carry the popular hits of saag paneer, butter chicken, chicken vindaloo etc There is enough options for both vegetarians and meat eaters here. The food is actually good, flavor is there, and the portions are fair for the price ($15/16 for combo entrees, enough food to fill up) The naan bread could be better, it was not as good as other places, but it was only a $1.5 so not a big deal. It's worth eating here if you like Indian food or want to try it out. They offer samples as well, which can help people find what they like

I've seen many reviews, and like a lot of places, they vary quite a bit, so I can only speak of my experience. I am a fan of Indian cuisine and have had the best from all over. I am going to rate Bombay Wala as a mall food provider only. And with that, the food was very good. From a flavor standpoint, it was better than some of the offerings in the food court. The owner was very generous and gave out samples. I actually ordered too much food and ended up in a food coma soon after. Butter chicken, rice, saaki, and Lassi were all very good. Portions were generous, and I felt it was a good value when compared to the other shops in the court. Oh, and the potato salad is to die for.

When did mall food get delicious?! I guess it's been awhile since I've been to a mall, at all, but amongst all of the fast food options, there's a little Indian place with very friendly attendants that offered tastings of all of their different dishes! They had a vindaloo and tikka masala that tasted incredible. But I'm basic and will always order a butter chicken if it's available. It was SO good, especially considering it was at a mall! For $15, I got a huuuge serving of creamy, spicy, and flavourful butter chicken, two pieces of garlic naan, and saffron rice. Although the naan isn't as garlicky or made as great as regular Indian restaurants, I was still pleased with the portion size.
